John T Shaw
John T. Shaw (the "other" John Shaw - nature photographer) was born in England and grew up in rural Hampshire. I first started bird watching at the age of 12. Living in a small village surrounded by farmland gave me many opportunities to study Nature. I started an interest in photography and about the same time graduating to my first SLR when I was 19.
Fast forward over 20 years and I had moved to the USA and was living in Corpus Christi, Texas. Here I started to blend both passions together and started taking photographs of birds. The beautiful Gulf Coast allowed me to get close to many species of bird associated with water. At the time I was an executive manager for a growing semiconductor company so there were not many opportunities to follow my passion.
Fast forward another 13 years and I decided to leave the corporate world and give much of my time to Nature instead.
I have followed my spiritual path and moved from California to Suffolk, Virginia. I now follow my passion for the winged ones, both studying them and photographing them. I am also much more in tune with Mother Earth doing everything that I can to help heal this beautiful planet on which we live. My life is dedicated to healing the planet and I hope through my photos and artwork that they speak to you to do your bit too. We will heal the planet together one person at a time.
