John T. Shaw was born in England and grew up in rural Hampshire. He first started bird watching at the age of 12. Living in a small village surrounded by farmland gave him many opportunities to study Nature. He started an interest in photography and about the same time graduating to his first SLR when he was 19.
John has followed his spiritual path by moving from California to Virginia in 2008. Prior to that move he had a 30 year career in semiconductor manufacturing and was most recently a senior executive in a multi-national electronics firm leaving the industry in early 2006. He follows his passion for the winged ones, both studying them and photographing them. He is also in tune with Mother Earth doing everything that he can to help heal this beautiful planet on which we live. His life is dedicated to healing the planet and he hopes through his photos and artwork that they speak to you to do your bit too. We will heal the planet together one person at a time.
John is also a Reiki Master and shamanic practitioner trained in the Peruvian energy medicine of the Jaguar Path, and received blessings and initiations from Don Francisco in the Sacred Valley in Peru. John has also trained with shaman Ray Crist learning Shamanic healing work. He initially studied with Timothy (Whispering Eagle) Aguilar when he lived in California. Whispering Eagle had a great influence on his life and John realized that this was his path to follow. He also studied with shaman Cynthia Bischoff in Norfolk VA for two years and most recently with Jamee Curtice
At the beginning of 2012 John decided to follow his path again and go ‘on the road’ and is traveling the USA and the world
